Latest company news about Absorbable magnesium alloy stent is expected to enter the clinical stage within this year

The Economic Daily reported that on May 28, the first biological magnesium alloy material strategic summit, co-hosted by the National Magnesium Alloy Materials Engineering Technology Research Center and other units, was held online. The chairman of this summit is jointly held by Academician Pan Fusheng and Academician Zhang Xingdong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The "absorbable magnesium alloy stent" joint research and development team led by the two academicians announced at the meeting that the first domestic absorbable magnesium alloy stent is expected to officially enter this year. clinical stage.

According to reports, this absorbable magnesium alloy stent has four characteristics: First, the magnesium alloy material used in the stent has surpassed the material WE43 used by its German counterparts, of which the tensile strength exceeds 15.9% and the elongation exceeds 21.4%. Second, according to the characteristics of magnesium alloy materials, the stent structure is optimized to disperse the stress, so that the thickness and width of the stent trabeculae are 16.7% lower than those of German competitors, but the mechanical properties are better. The third is to effectively control the degradation rate of magnesium alloy stents through composite coating, and the support force can still maintain more than 85% after 2 months. Fourth, from the results of animal experiments, the stent adheres well, with good endothelialization, uniform intima, no excessive hyperplasia, and no restenosis.
